It's good to be warm! Our new heat pump is installed. When it was first turned on, smoke poured (billowed?) into the house from every vent. Our poor pooch, Max, was terrified. Of course the smoke alarms screaching didn't help, but we realized that he is not to be depended on to rescue us in an actual emergence. He huddled trembling by the sofa. I had to pick him up and carry him outside. However, he can be counted on to bark ferociously at the mail carrier (a lovely lady) and the UPS guy.
I'm so happy with my Kool-Aid dyed yarn:
I see a scarf in my future... better consult the Magic 8 Ball... "Yes, Definately!" Now to decide which color. From right to left, I used Raspberry Reaction on one end and Lemon-Lime on the other with a little overlap, all in Black Cherry then one end in Grape, and all in Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade and one end in Grape. The yarn was pale yellow to begin with, but oh so much nicer now. I bought a zillion packages of Kool-Aid, so I think I'll dig up more wool to dye this week. If you've never tried this ya otter!
I decided to check my New Year's Resolutions today to see how I'm doing, but I can't find them. I have several journals, but they weren't written down there. I know I wrote some- where ever they are, I'm sure I'm doing very well. Except for my knitting resolutions. I wasn't going to order any more yarn until my birthday, but I had to have some wool for Afghans for Afghanistan and then my Mom kept saying, "Gee, I'd like a sweater like that," very time I wear my tunic from Creative Cottage. It was really getting annoying so I had to do something, but it was the oddest thing. In all those boxes on boxes of yarn, I didn't have a single thing that would work. So I had to order some lovely gray wool from Elann. And they just happened to have sock yarn at a very good price, and then there was this cotton and shawl pattern.... Will this madness ever end? Let's consult the Magic 8 Ball... "Signs Point to No."
