It's a new day!

This is so funny- I have major memory problems, and my family is always making cracks about how every day is a new day for me and that I'm always so happy because ignorance is bliss. And it's true! Here's the proof...

Yea, and I do have row counters, only I forget to use them. :) I admire those knitters who can dig into a complicated colorwork or cabled garment and actually stick with it until it's finished. AND THEN they start something new. I have a hat in my purse; the Bella sweater, a pair of baby booties, a scarf and a dishcloth on my desk; Mom's gray sweater, the Starfish shawl, and another dishcloth by my bed; the Adult Surprize Jacket, a Garter Stitch Cardigan, a child's wool vest, and DD#1's socks in the living room; DD#2 found the stash of about 12 UFOs under my sewing table while looking for lace; there are half a dozen or so in the office closet; my first attempt at Fair Isle in the coat closet (no one told me working 4 colors on a row would be a hard way to learn); who knows what stuck in boxes of yarn; and I really need to start a baby sweater for one of quints about to be born.

But all this is really necessary. It's easier to have things in different rooms so where ever I am, there it is, and I don't need to go hunting for what I need. I need mindless knitting for movie watching with the lights off, reading emails, riding in the car, and brain dead days. I need something more challenging to keep my brain functioning, and inbetween stuff for most of the time. I have charity knitting, family knitting, and me knitting. Things it doesn't matter when I finish and deadline knitting.

And all that yarn... well, everyone knows why you need all that yarn. If I didn't have my own personal yarn store, I wouldn't have been able to just go upstairs and grab a skein in the right brand and color to start the quint's sweater today. I'd be wasting time going to the store, being distracted by all the colors, squeezing the fluffy ones, buying more than I need. I'm better off at home knitting. I wonder if this one skein will be enough?
