I’m such a slackard and a bit of a whiner today. I’ve had a very negligent couple of weeks where all things knitting are concerned. I’m way behind on blog reading and writing, and I’ve actually gone days at a time without clicking any needles- very unlike me, considering the day after brain surgery I was in the hospital cranking out baby hats. I always feel kind of down when I can’t knit because it’s usually the one thing I can always do.
I have been having fun chatting with Monika and reading lots- as Groucho Marx said, “Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend. Inside of a dog, it’s too dark to read.” So I’ve been reading in bed.
I have managed to finish a few things, so here they be, and then I’m going to crash again.
The Starfish shawl is complete. I frogged enough rows to have enough to knit the last couple of rounds- it has a neat picot bind-off edge that takes more yarn. I haven’t blocked it yet, but I think it will be plenty big despite being a few rows short.
I also knit up a couple of dishcloths and went on a baby bootie binge- both nice, mindless projects for those brain dead days. Funny, I never notice that spot on my sofa until after I take a picture.
I just asked the Magic 8 Ball if this would be a better knitting week, and it answered, "Without a Doubt". (And I only had to try once.) So I think I'll go take a nap and then swatch something.
