I haven’t posted in awhile, so thought I’d play a little catch up. Not much to show picture-wise for my knitting ventures, but I will as soon as I get buttons. I need baby sweater buttons and vest buttons. It’s not like I don’t have buttons- I have three button boxes. I just never have the right buttons. You’d think somewhere in all that yarn and in all those buttons, there’d be a match. But no.
I did finish the coral vest- after frogging the front down to the armhole and re-knitting with a deeper v-neck that I like better. I just made one large buttonhole at the V, and reverse single crocheted around the edges, but it needs a cool button. DD#1 is taking a ceramics class. Maybe I’ll commission her to make a one-of-a-kind button.
I’ve knit the front and started the back of the Shapely Tank in yellow. Mindless stockinette stitch, great for movie watching. I taped “A Wrinkle in Time” last night to watch while I knit today. It was one of my favorite books when I was young. I’m anxious to finish. My sister gave me a long sleeved yellow sweater and bright fish earrings and necklace for my birthday. The fishies go with my tank, too.
A note about birthdays- I just turned 42, but my children swear I don’t look a day over 41 ¾. And what is the secret to my youthfulness you ask? I share my birthday with everyone around me. I pass it out like cake. Everybody gets some- seconds if they want it. That leaves less for me and I stay young.
Well, happy belated birthday! Of course, in my house we celebrate birthday week/month.
Today's my birthday and I'm happily celebrating by knitting until my birthday dinner tonight. Yay!
On knitting news, I can't wait to see the tank all knitted up.
