And I can’t wear a sweater for more than ten minutes before I’m flashing and have to whip it off again. Normally, I’m very cold natured. DH and I have thermostat battles every winter, and I wrap up in a blankie to watch movies at night all year round. But due to my early arrival (and I’ve never been on time for anything!) to this blessed stage of life, I’m bound to save on heating bills this year.
I was lying in bed yesterday afternoon cause I felt like poop, and a commercial came on just to let me know that along with the mood swings and hot flashes, I’m going to get fat. So I drug my fluffy self out of bed and went for a walk. What an incredible sunset! But of course, one of the DDs has the camera, so you’re stuck looking at pictures of what I’ve been knitting.
Christmas present finished! This is in Bernat Boa and for my sister. She liked the Boa hat I wore last winter and wanted something fru-fru. So that's what she gets.
Next up is a bunch of hats which are presently in the trunk of the car waiting for someone to have time to go to the PO to ship them off to an LDS charity. The top one is knit with Bernat Softee Chunky using the helmet pattern in Knitter's Stash. The others are Kool-Aid dyed wool.
I snuck in a Boogie vest for myself which I've worn and love. Only took 3 days, and used a little over 3 skeins of Lion Brand Jiffy. I did make a couple of changes to the pattern. I knit it in the round to save myself the extreme trauma of sewing the side seams, and I made decreases on the outside of the cables to form a V-neck rather than a slit neck line. If I do another, I'll let the V start with the armholes.
And lastly, I finished the Haiku and a matcing hat for the little girl we sponsor.
I'd love to show you what I'm working on now- a Bob the Builder sweater for my nephew for his birthday, a Homespun sweater for my sister with the yarn she gave me, her poncho edging, more hats and scarves, socks, and by the time I blog again, I'm sure there will be even more. As a matter of fact, I really feel like starting a sweater for me. I need more cardigans so I can whip them off when the temperature starts rising. Time to go stash digging! Knit on!
......I will lie down and sleep in peace,
for you alone, O LORD ,
make me dwell in safety. ps4:8
Can you sleep in peace while you have all those unfinished projects and hotflashes to boot?
Just stopped by...you made me laugh today. I'd love to know about the child your sponsoring.
Have a great day!
