Who knew marshmallows were so flammable? I'm glad no one got a picture of that- flames bursting out of the oven, me just standing there opening and shutting the door trying to remember how to put out a fire, dear hubby rescuing me and beating it out with a towel, daughters and DD#1's boyfriend laughing hysterically. Ho, ho, ho. I just scraped the marshmallows into the trash (but Mooooom, they're good burnt), put more on top, and watched it carefully while they toasted to a delectable golden brown. Thankfully nothing else caught fire, and our Christmas was merry and our New Year's happy.
I finished DD#2's scarf in time to wrap. She loved it and her new coat.
Sis liked her scarf and hat set.
She said it's incredibly warm.
I got cool knitting presents:
The tote is from my in-laws, the Knitting calendar from my dear hubby (With a little help from me. OK, a lot of help- I bought it and gave it to him to give to me. Well, it worked.), the Socks book and yarn for the scarf were from my Secret Santa from one of my groups (thanks, Mardeen), and Knits form the Heart and Sweater Patterns from my parents. I am loved and understood. I couldn't resist knitting the scarf. The yarn is so soft. It's called Elf. Who doesn't love an elf?
We birthday partied for my sister-in-law. (Note: I am not a professional cake decorator [duh] and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to fit Happy Birthday Sabine on the cake. DD#1 suggested I write directions on it instead.)
I also finished an apple hat for a baby gift and a hat for my nephew- black with neon pink stripes. Everyone else will have to wait. I'm sidetracked once again.
Is this cute or what? It's for a preemie one of my knitting groups is helping. It was so much fun, I've cut out another to sew up this weekend. Then I have to start on DD#2's formal for a dance the 22nd.
But I'm not neglecting my knitting. I've knit up a few more hats for A4A, and I'm making progress on other projects. I just have too many going to make enough progress to be photo worthy. I need to pick one or two to concentrate on until I actually finish something. Yea, that'll happen.
Happy weekend! Go Broncos!
Great Christmas Haul! You know, my kids went through a stage of putting marshmallows in the microwave just to watch them blow up...then they though of how cool "peeps" would look! Campfires were always a blast with a marshmallow on a stick bursting into flames...I'm just very thankful they didn't think of doing that over the gas stove inside! Have a great weekend!

Looks like you had lots of fun! I should try your tactics, that way I would get more knitting presents too!
