Okay, maybe not knitting, but they decimated the last of the loathsome Boboli.
They had a little trouble getting started.
Sammy finally decided it was more fun to play with Max's tail.
Max is still extremely jealous, but things are getting better. He let Sammie sleep by his bed last night, and when Sammie kissed him this morning, Max didn’t growl. Just don’t touch his rawhide chew. She loves Max and follows him around trying to do what he does- like roll in the grass. Potty training is going well, she's growing like crazy, and hasn’t chewed up anything important. I’m such a proud Grandma. (DD#1 is his Mamma.)
Rough Week
I’m just getting over a two-day trip to the doctor last week. Don’t you just hate when going to the doctor makes you sick? Love that knitting time, though. I finished the dishcloth blanket, knit 2 ½ booties and started a baby sweater set. I’ve knit two from this pattern, and after I tweak the sleeves one more time (I still think they are too narrow) I’ll share the pattern.
Of course we stopped at Wild & Wooly. I ogled everything, then went for the clearance basket, (yes, I’m a cheapskate- I knit too much to be able to afford good stuff any other way) and came up with this:
Six skeins of Twins (a very soft acrylic) for baby things, 2 skeins of Blue Sky Alpaca for a pair of socks (my feet will be in heaven), and a skein of Richesse et Soie. I wish there had been two, but I’ll try to get a lacy scarf out of this for Mom. I wanted #4, 6 and 10 Clover Bamboo needles, but they only had the long ones, so my search goes on. I have a pair of 8s that I love using. Lately, I’ve been finding things to knit based on the needles I like best.
I’ve been doing some scarf knitting. Mom needed a fancy scarf. Apparently, she’s the only one at church without one, which is an embarrassment since everyone knows her daughter knits obsessively. I finish it just in time for her to take it with her to the Homestead this weekend, so didn’t get a picture. I used one strand each of the Aura, and knit diagonally in garter. Gives it a lacy look. I also started the Andean Silk Twist from Knit Picks for me to go with a sweater I love. I don’t know why I have such a hard time picking out scarf patterns. I started each of these at least 3 times before I was happy enough to keep going. I started mine with Fan and Feather, ripped and tried the Simple Knitted Lace Scarf from the Pattern-a-Day Calendar, tried this one, then finally found this one.
In other news, J’apprend a parler francais. My doc said I need to practice memorizing things to get my rememberer working better, so thought I’d brush up on my high school French. Today I am learning C’est une espece d’imbecile. Who know what amazing things I will learn demain. A bientot!
