...two kazillion to go! (Skeins of yarn, that is.) My anti-procrastination project has been to finish up this sweater:
and I did. While I was at it, I knit the rest into hats for the homeless shelter. The little bits left over I wound into balls and tossed into the little-bits-left-over-and-wound-into-balls bag to take to church for the day care center. The itty-bitty bits I save in the itty-bitty bits jar for the birds. How’s that for yarn conservation?
Blue is progressing nicely. Fronts finished, sleeves cast on together and begun. Barely, but begun. Next on the agenda, socks. I have three pair started around here somewhere, and at least one will be finished by next Wednesday.
We'll be right back after this commercial break. If this is too commerecial for your liking, feel free to skip it.A few weeks ago, I received an email from the publisher of a new knitting book. She offered to send me a free copy to peruse. No strings attached, just asked if I would tell others about it I liked it. I did, so here's a little plug. This is geared for the beginner, so I plan to pass it on to my sister. (By the way, we were knitting by the pool the other day- ain't obsession grand?) Lots of good pictures with instructions. I got a couple of ideas from the color stranding section. I may borrow it back if I ever get around to completing the Master Handknitting course. It is formatted rather like the Sally Melville books I love- directions for how to do something, then patterns that use the skill. The projects aren't very exciting, but good beginner stuff and I do want to knit the socks. And that's all I have to say about that.
And about that peach… that was the most drip down my shirt and all over my face juicy, bursting with peachy goodness, sweeter than chewing just picked sugar cane on a summer day in Mississippi, out of this world intensely flavorful peach I have ever eaten. Not too bad looking, either. So was the second one. With only four peaches in our bumper crop this year, I thought I’d better let someone else have a shot at eating one. All I can say is they’d better hurry.
With temps near 100 this week, I set up the kiddie pool for the pups. Max jumped in and out a few times, but never when I had the camera. Sammie and Cocoa didn’t quite understand its purpose.
Cocoa prefers the sprinkler anywho.
