The Car Jinx- I went to Dollar General to buy socks for Little B (I’m avoiding Wal-Mart). No socks her size and my car wouldn’t start. I walk to Tractor Supply and the cashier let me use the desk phone to call Mom for rescue. She was waiting for a gi-normous pink poinsettia to be delivered, and would you mind waiting? I perused the magazines and a copy of Alpacas Magazine caught my eye. It seemed to be dedicated to clothing made from alpaca wool, but I did find one article on knitting blogs featuring Stephanie Pearl-Mcphee. Read it, bought stocking stuffers for the pups, and rescue came.
The Phone Jinx- I couldn’t page hubby to let him know about the car because the black phone reset itself to rotary, I couldn’t dial out on the upstairs phone, and I couldn’t find the white phone (it had been off the hook all night so pushing that little button thingy didn’t work). A few hours later, it occurred to me to call my parents and get them to page Drew.
The Knitting Jinx- Call me the Frog Queen. This whole fall, I seem to tearing out more than I knit. Lesson to learn: If I’m not sure about something, go ahead and frog it before knitting 8 more inches and then frogging. I got to the armholes on Little B’s sweater and decided I had been right all along- I really should knit the next size larger. Ribbit.
Hubby stopped by the car on his way home. It started right up. He made a call on the phone upstairs. No problem. However, he did nothing for my knitting dilemma, so I continue to reknit. No pictures to show.
I do share Bobby’s affliction, HDK, and dream of knitting me a sweater in the new year (and mittens and gloves and a lace shawl). Receiving the new IK yesterday lifted my spirits and has me seriously eyeing the Pearl Buck Swing Jacket. I’m dreaming of a frog-free New Year…..
