This is a totally non-knitting post. Not that I haven't been knitting. Oh, the wonders I have wrought with my needles! I have a FO for the Tote-Along and two new projects well under way. But this is what happened.
I've complained about our computer, it's sluggish, lackadaisical work ethic. I’ve briefly mentioned my own sluggish, lackadaisical efforts to get it fixed. I would say it’s a downhill slide, but slide implies actual movement. My SIL reminds me how much room 40-gazillion pictures take up, so I delete three or four. It doesn’t help. Then the modem breaks. That doesn’t help either. The UPS guy (who I count among my best friends even though I don’t know his name) brings me a new one. Some improvement. BIL spends 5 hours exploring the inner-workings of this thing we call can’t-live-with-it-can’t-afford-to-throw-it-out-the-window.
Diagnosis: secret undetectable spy virus that can only be killed by wiping the hard drive clean and starting over. Bummer. So I’m spending hours and hours saving everything. All the pictures are saved on disks and erased off the computer. (Hmm. Now it works a little faster.) But I can’t make them go from the disk to my blog. Therefore, I will show you the two pictures currently on my camera.
DD#1 is graduating June 10th! We had a graduate recognition service and lunch at church today. Many Kodak and Kleenex moments were shared. I can’t believe my baby is grown. She is such a loving, talented, intelligent, unique, incredible young woman. I have marveled at her existence every day since she was born. She is musically gifted- she plays trombone, violin, piano, and guitar. She writes poetry; plays soccer, volleyball, and softball; has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, the animal shelter, and on mission trips; she had the lead in her school play; and did I mention she cooks? But what impresses me the most about my baby is she has never failed to bring me a cup of tea or make me laugh when I needed it most. She loves the people around her with all her heart.
And on a lighter note, now that candy season is over (Halloween to Easter) it’s time to once again battle the bulge. This is my afternoon snack:
Milk Shake Lite
Mix in a blender
2-3 t cocoa powder
2 packets splenda
2/3 c skim milk
2-3 handfulls of ice
The ice freezes the milk as it blends, so it’s thick and shakish. Yum. I think it’s more effective to drink it by itself and leave the burgers and fries alone.
Crafty Part If you are a sewer (pronounced sew-er not soo-er) and you haven't found Fabric.com, get a drool cup and head on over. The Kaffe Fasset and Waverly decorator fabrics make me want to decorate something. Anything. Mostly my fabric stash.
Congrats to your daughter, and congrats to you for being such a great mom! Good luck with the computer - they can be trying at times!

Congrats on and to your daughter! Aw, she sounds like a sweetie.
That shake looks yummy.
Bummer about the hideous spy virus problem.
